Friends of AskASoundGuy.com, VIOLETHOUR are a fantastic Brooklyn duo working on a new batch of recordings, and are worth checking out.  I hesitate to say “they sound like so-and-so” because I think they’d rather tell you about their influences and music themselves.

Hopefully we’ll have an interview with them soon about their live setup (which includes an hp mini netbook and some fatty amps).

Check out their myspace here, and D/L some of their tunes if you like ‘em.  They recently played with Screen Vinyl Image, and I hear a short tour might be in the works.  Show them some love if you please; they’re great people, and a great musical act.

Corrections: I did a good job of butchering the band’s names.  “Vinyl Screen Image” is really “Screen Vinyl Image” and “Violet Hour” is really “VIOLETHOUR”
