AES Europe 2009 is coming up quickly here. And with that comes more info on what kind of tech will be unveiled at this years conference.

  • F.E.G. will be revealing a brand new system, named DS-ADR, that will make foreign language dubbing/ADR studios much happier. It’s a studio controller based on a Windows PC and includes a Linux-based client which processes audio and video in real-time. It can handle composite video and HD signals (DVI/HDMI) up to 1080p at 50/60Hz.
  • Soundmaster Group will be showing off a new controller for their Soundmaster ION system. The remote is being called the Digimote and can be worn as a ring around your finger. They’re fully programable and you can have multiple remots going at one. A demo will be shown at AES, but you can watch one online here.
  • MicW, a leading Chinese microphone manufacturer, will be showing off a new line of Precision microphones dubbed the N-Series. There will be several models on display including a large-diaphram  and 1/4″ hi-def mics.
  • Audio Precision will announce v2.4 of their OS for their APx Series of anaylizers.
  • APT will reveal a new IP Audio Codec, the WorldCast Equionox, at AES Europe. It will make it possible to deliver bi-directional mic signals via IP and ISDN links.
  • Concept-A, a leading German acoustics design firm, will have a rented out trailer-turned-mobile-studio at AES this year.

Interesting to see a Chinese microphone manufacturer who isn’t just booltegging SM57 schematics. Apparently those guys have been in business for over a decade. Would really like to see their mics!
