Korg DS-10: Part 2!

Woooo! If you own a DS, you should’ve probably bought the Korg DS-10 when it came out fall of last year. If not, you should definitely be buying it right now. And in case you don’t know much at all about this program, it’s not much of a game. It’s a serious synthesis program and sequencer for your Nintendo DS. Don’t let it fool you: just because it’s on a portable gaming platform doesn’t mean it can’t do some serious things.
The developers of the DS-10 are coming out the the DS-10 Plus, an enhanced version of the original DS-10. The DS-10 Plus is designed to work around the new version of the DS, the DSi. The DS-10 Plus gives you:
- Four analog synth channels (yes, this program actually synthesizes)
- Eight drum channels
- 12 total tracks (doubled from the original DS-10)
- Ability to edit in real-time
- “Dual Mode:” each DS-10 Plus cartridge counts as two, making it sharable with a friend
The DS-10 Plus comes out in Japan in September. It’ll cost 3,990Y which is cheaper than the original DS-10. That comes out to be around $42 in the US.
Here’s the announcement video. It’s hilarious.
