AEA A840 Ribbon Mic

A840The A840 is AEA’s newest ribbon microphone. It’s supposed to be extremely versatile and can be used on for both digital, analog, and hybrid recording. The A840, like some other mics from AEA’s line, contain the “Big Ribbon” technology. Other features of the A840:

  • Frequency Response: 20Hz to 20kHz
  • Power: 48v Phantom Power, 7 mA
  • Maximum SPL: 141dB SPL with a 1ohm load for < 1% THD
  • Output Sensitivity: -44dBv/Pa 1 Pa = 94dB SPL
  • Output Impedance: 92ohm broadband
  • Recommended Load: 1.0k ohm or greater
  • Polarity: Pin 2 high
  • Polar Pattern: Native bi-directional
  • Accessories Included: Custom vertical storage, transport case, manual, cables
  • Limited Warranty: One year parts and labor sans shipping

No price was listed with the info I was sent. Needless to say, the mic will cost you a few grand but I’m going to bet that it’ll be well worth your money.
