SAE SF: Pro Tools & Live Workshops This Saturday
Quick notice for all you Bay Area folks:
This Saturday (9/12), the folks over at the SAE San Francisco campus will be holding a Mixing in Pro Tools and an Intro to Ableton Live workshop. The PT class is from 10-11am while the Live class is from 11-12pm.

10AM-11AM :: Intro to Mixing in Pro Tools.
There are only 6 spaces for this workshop, so you MUST RSVP by calling us at the school @ 415.344.0886. You’ll learn the basics of how to mix a track in Pro Tools. The workshop will take place in our ICON control room and will use a multi-track of a song you’ve definitely heard before.

Digidesign Venue Demo Tour Coming Soon

WHAT: This fall, Avid will travel across the Americas to show off the newest member of its Digidesign VENUE family of live sound consoles, the Digidesign® VENUE SC48, and demonstrate the value this highly portable, all-in-one system brings to small to mid-sized houses of worship, clubs, corporate A/V companies and touring companies looking to provide great, uncomplicated live sound.
In a series of local events, registered attendees will receive two hours of hands-on training from veteran live sound engineer and Digidesign market manager Robert Scovill. Scovill will instruct in the features and benefits of the VENUE SC48 system. He’ll also present the entire VENUE family product line, highlighting features and workflows and demonstrating how to achieve studio sound live with plug-ins. A question and answer session will follow. Hors d’oeuvres and refreshments will be served.
WHEN / WHERE: “VENUE—A Revolution in Live Sound” will run September through November, making stops at the following locations in the U.S.:

WikiAudio $200 Tutorial Contest
Our friends over at WikiAudio have announced a great chance for you, the aspiring audio writer, the chance to win $200 all by writing a few tutorials about your favorite DAW.
Here’s how it works…
You, the competitor agree to write at least one tutorial with a total of 100 words or more (easy!).
The tutorial can be of anything pertaining to audio or sound technology as long as it fulfills the tutorial writing guidelines and a similar tutorial doesn’t already exist on Wikiaudio.Each tutorial must have at least 1 related picture or media file accompanying it.Here is an example tutorial.
After the initial tutorial is written the competitor who continues on to create the most tutorials for the month wins $200.The criteria for each additional tutorial is adherence to the general tutorial guidelines, a 250 word minimum and two accompanying image files.The tutorial limit for the contest is 10 per competitor.
If multiple competitors do 10 tutorials the winner will be determined by a community vote based on which competitor has written the most elaborate and useful tutorials.When does the contest start and end?
The scheduled time frame is as follows:
Start date: September 1st 2009 at 12:00 am GMT
