Brainworx bx_control v2 in Beta
Brainworx has unleashed the bx_control v2 beta which I would recommend for everyone who likes good plugins (I’m not joking).
Major changes from v1 to v2 include the improved M/S matrix and stereo enhancer with mono maker. Add to that list indiviual M/S panning, dynamic range metering, and a solo-in-place feature for all solo modes.
I’m serious when I saw Brainworx makes my favorite plug-ins right now. Not only are they designed well, but they sound amazing. They may be little intimidating upon first run, but stick with it, learn how to use it, and you won’t regret it for a second. These guys at Brainworx are like mad scientists in the best way possible.
bx_control v2 will be 99 euros (native) or 149 euros (TDM with VENUE support). People upgrading from v1 will pay 49 euros for both Native and TDM versions. There’s also a 25% introductory sale that starts in February (and applies to upgrades!), so try the plug-in and grab it on the cheap when it becomes available.
Hit the jump for links to everything!
PS: Stay tuned for my review of a very lovely Brainworx plug-in as well as a review of Elysia’s mpressor plug-in.

Sonnox and DontCrack offer 50% Group Buy Discount in Decemeber
Sonnox Oxford (Sony Oxford) is pairing with the website DontCrack.com to offer a group buy discount that actually started yesterday. It’s an interesting offer in that you don’t have to make your purchase upfront to participate. DontCrack.com simlpy asks you to Commit between Decemeber 1st – 13th to buying a bundle between December 14th – 18th.
Now don’t go thinking you can just click a commit button 50 times and then bail if you don’t get the discount you want – DontCrack is requiring you to be a registered user (i.e. they record you IP address) to commit to the group buy, and have made it clear they will perma-ban anyone who commits without buying. So I’d suggest only committing if you’re Really interested.
Oh yeah, and they bundles look pretty awesome – I’d love to get a an Oxford Inflator for $270 (along with the Transient Modulator and Limiter). But here’s a run down of the possible discounts:

Get Elysia’s mpressor plugin for 25% in November
For the rest of November, you can grab Elysia’s mpressor plugin for 25% ($300USD).
The plugin is an emulation of Elysia’s hardware mpressor, a class-A, all discrete compressor that retails at around $5,000USD (yikes). However, the plugin version costs much less than that and was crafted in conjunction with Brainworx in Germany.
The plugin is available now in RTAS, AU, and VST (TDM in a few weeks) and is available for a free 14-day trial (iLok required).
